How I help you


 Solution Focused Conversation and/or Hypnotherapy are both types of ‘talking therapy’. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines the use of solution focused conversation with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and then focus on ideas and thoughts that might have been discussed during the conversation part of the session. The conversation part of any session is just as important as the hypnosis.  Sometimes the whole session will be conversation. I am guided by your preferences.

Your sessions

 I use my skills in guiding the conversation to help you work out your own solutions. You choose how you want to work with me in your initial  free consultation. Each session is then   tailored to your  needs, including  answering any questions you may have and providing you with tools and techniques to take away after the sessions have ended. Together, we will look at what you want to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted you to seek help (the problem).  You can share whatever information you want to with me, but there is no requirement  for you to discuss the past.

Relaxation and Reflection

 Trance is a very natural and safe state. Contrary to what you might see on the television, trance is not mind-control! When you are in a trance state you are still in control, and you process and decide whether information or suggestions are useful to you or not and you will not accept or do anything against your will. Being in a trance is a very relaxing, natural experience – and it is something that you will already frequently experience in your daily life. In fact, experiencing changes in your conscious awareness is a vital part of your existence as a human – you need times where you can relax, reflect and consolidate information, and utilise different parts of your brains for different activities.
